II. New home.

— Please go this way - ordered a young, uniformed boy who brought all passengers to a fairly large hall. There were at least fifteen research stands in it that were waiting for these people. They were not surprised. The duty of the military unit, which was accepting people waiting to return home, was to inform about all the procedures that awaited them. — You will be called by names to the next positions, there you will go through detailed research - he added, standing in front of the gathered people, and his eyes rushed towards the boy's frightened face. — It does not hurt - he gave him a pleasant smile.
— Pff. - Little snorted, putting his arms over his chest as the soldier left them. — As if I had something to be afraid of.
— Shiro, you shuddered at the sight of those big white armchairs - the girl standing shoulder to shoulder with him laughed. — Do you think that they will call me with you because you are underage?
— I think so... - he sighed, sliding the stuffed, bulging backpack from his shoulders. — Are we going to sit down? God knows how much we will wait, I do not want to stand here until morning...
The blonde nodded to him in the head, grabbed the bag and followed her younger brother towards the plastic chairs.
Everything was new, unknown and somehow disturbing to them. They were on their own when any contact with their parents was lost. Tanja had to mature at a moment to be able to take care of her younger brother. She could not imagine losing him too. That's why she did not step away from him. Although it annoyed him sometimes, he understood her fears. He also did not want to lose her. Nothing worse could happen...

— Major... - A quiet whisper, an eternally frightened nurse, made the concentration and observation of the green-eyed woman fade like a bubble. She turned her head in the direction from which the nurse's voice reached her. Pink hair fell from her shoulders to her back, and a blank look took its expression as their eyes met. — I already have the cards of these two. Who to assign them to the study?
— Me - she replied shortly. Seeing, however, that her hard tone caused that the young girl shuddered, she smiled at her warmly enough, as much as the mood let her and picked up the papers. — You know that this is a completely different case than before. Be at the ready, but I take them on myself so that I can then have grounds to confront General Shimura - she said, looking back at the young siblings, who were visibly tired and bored with waiting for their turn.
A large clock placed in the waiting room building hit six in the morning. Over twelve hours of research, it became a mantra. In spite of everything, Haruno waited for the two to the very end, which filled her with new strength.
— I completely forgot - a nurse sighed — I hope that it will not cause any problems.
— I also. - She closed her eyelids. After a moment, she let out a loud breath and opened her eyes again. She nodded to the nurse so that she would return to her stuff and focus on the documentation of the youngsters. She scrutinized every line of the text placed there so that she could calm down a bit. She finally put the two cards on the table, slapped her hands on her thighs, and got up from the chair. She stretched and repeated in her thoughts that everything would be fine, and then gave a few steps forward. — Shiro and Tanja Tenzou?
The bright blue eyes of the young girl jumped up from the book and stuck in an expression of concern, uttering their names. Sakura watched the boy who was nodding to the music that was coming to his ears from the headphones. They both had dark circles under their eyes and waited for them to finally be able to go to a new apartment and rest.
— It's us! - Tanja put the book down on her suitcase and dug her elbow into her brother's ribs.
— Ouuuuch! - he howled and looked at the girl with reproach. He pulled out the headphones and began to massage the sore place. — For what?!
— I invite - Haruno said, then turned on her heel and directed to one of the positions.
— Have you had to so tight? - little blonde mumbled, then he picked up the backpack and bag. The sister gave him a scolding look and pushed him with her belly in the green-eyed direction, pulling two suitcases behind.
— How old are you? - the pink-haired girl murmured, glancing at the girl as the siblings stood by her, ready for examination.
— Nineteen - she responded quickly, feeling strange respect in front of the woman.
— Umm... - a woman smacked. — Agnes!
— Yes, major? - The same nurse who brought her papers earlier got into the compartment, screened with rotten green curtains. She smiled at the kids and after a while she watched her superior seriously.
— Open the curtain - she pointed to a pen on one of the ragged walls. The nurse came up to her and dragged her to the end of the metal tube, thus revealing a second empty position. — Take the girl. We will save them additional waiting for themselves. - She winked at Shiro.
In response a row of white teeth of a boy appeared to her who felt a woman's sympathy. When she pointed a hand at the chair in front of her desk, he rested on it and waited for further instructions while Sakura took notes. Finally, she put the pen down, sat down comfortably, and dragged from the right end of the desk a small device that she placed between him and herself.
— Put your beard on it and bring your eyes closer to these two visors, okay? - she mumbled, setting the height of the support on which to lean his jaw. — I need to examine your eyes. Do not move.
Without a word, he did what she asked for and froze. Pink-haired glanced through the dark, special glasses on her side and began to look closely at the boy's knobs.
— You can move away. Green and brown... - she whispered, narrowing her eyelids. She put the machine back and grabbed the pen again. — Interesting iris anomaly. It is usually inherited - she smiled under her nose — One of the parents has such?
— My mom... - he whispered. Sakura immediately sensed a change in the child's mood and regretted that she did not bite her tongue. She looked up at him anxiously. — Such ... She had.
She tried to talk to him as slowly as she could, knowing that for such a child the whole situation was very difficult, until she suddenly felt that she wanted to collapse underground. She grabbed the tip of her nose to calm her breath and frowned. Only after a moment she removed her hand from her face and blinked several times. She straightened up and took other tests.
— How old are you, Shiro? - she asked after a long silence.
— Twelve — he answered, shaking the grin with his thumbs.
— Well, you're the youngest person in this country - she forced a smile that did not look bad. — Your blood pressure is A-OK, and I you are negative on any serious diseases or afflictions... You can enter - she sighed, putting the last dot in her notes. — Welcome back to Britain.

— Shiro, get moving! - Tanja urged him as they rushed to the train. He was to transport them to the mentioned before the first district, and only that's what counted on them now. The kid jumped down the metal steps to the first, long compartment and stumbled when his sister threw the suitcase right behind him. The blonde flew forward. It was inevitable to break the jaw, but some man the last moment grabbed his arm and set him to the vertical.
— T-thank you, sir... - he mumbled, correcting his sister's backpack, hung on his stomach. He looked at the savior who was smiling at him cheerfully. He had a short, auburn hair, black beady eyes, and the three in his teeth, which usually look like fangs in humans, were slightly longer than in everyone.
— No problem, kiddo! - he laughed loudly and patted his head. — Happen to everyone.
— You especially often - the boy spoke quietly, sitting next to his brown-haired boy. He wore sunglasses on his nose, and his mouth was in the collar of a sweatshirt.
— Shut up! - growled the first one. He put his arms over his chest and turned his offended gaze forward, making the younger siblings sit down in front of him, amused.
— Kiba, Shino... Calm down. - The silent tone of the purple-haired girl sitting between them made the dangerously toothed boy relax. The wagon wobbled and the train began to roll slowly.
— Hinata... - he murmured and smiled. He grabbed her chin gently and kissed her tenderly.
Shiro turned red at the sight and looked away in a flick. His sister sitting next to him laughed at the blonde's reaction. She adjusted her blouse, slid down, and leaned her head against her brother's shoulder, who also took a comfortable position. At that time, a tall, slim blonde appeared next to the driver. She had her military jacket unbuttoned, her hair tied in a ponytail, and her large, blue eyes gleamed with joy.
— Hello, my name is Ino Yamanaka and I will tell you a bit about your new home. - She tilted her head and sent a friendly smile to everyone. She leaned against the glass wall behind which the train driver had hidden, took air into her lungs, and scanned the pool of passengers. — As you probably guessed, we are heading to the security zone. It is an isolated and heavily guarded area of the city called "District One." It is located in the port area, due to the facilitation of transporting all the funds needed for the normal functioning on the island. - While the girl kept her monologue, everyone looked out the window when she pointed to the points. The attention of passengers attracted peoples dressed in white coveralls. They wore strange things and took out sacks with different markings from the houses. It was not hard to see that there were bodies in some of them. — Although this area is completely safe, the surrounding area of London is not. There are a large numbers of bodies are still not cleared from the original outbreak of infection. Rats and wild dogs are prevalent, as is disease.
Some of the passengers exchanged nervously, even scared looks. Tanja's hand tightened on Shiro's shoulder as she felt uneasy.
— New arrivals are reminded for their own safety - Ino continued — it is absolutely forbidden to cross the river and leave the security zone. - Her face was serious. It was evident that despite her playful disposition, everyone had to take this information to themselves. — You will be joining 15,000 civilians who are already resident in District One. - She looked at the passengers from under the eyebrows. After a moment, however, she raised her head up and a smile returned to her face. She looked through the windows, just like everyone, who focused on armed with uniformed men. Tanks, helicopters, massive, armored equipment. — As we approach your new home, you will notice a dramatically increased military presence. The United The US Army is responsible for your safety.
Everything disappeared, and darkness prevailed in the wagon. They entered a tunnel that was on the edge of a safe zone. But the darkness escaped very quickly and got replaced with sunny light. A clean, orderly city appeared to everyone's eyes. There were no traces of an epidemic, battle or any other worse past. Only a multitude of military.
— We will do everything we can do to make your repatriation as easy as possible - muttered blue-eyed, looking at the older couple. — We believe, however, that attractions will surprise you. There is hot and cold runnnig water, electricity and heating. Access to satellite TV, internet. We have a medical center, supermarket and even a pub - she laughed at the sight of the happy Kiba who clapped his hands.
— Almost like home - Shino mumbled when the brown-haired boy began to tug his sweatshirt and holler that they had to go for a beer.
The train continued rolling for a moment while Tanja looked dispassionately at the window. When everyone started to get up, she followed them. The machine pulled onto the station, on which there were many people waiting for their families. Her gaze examined the passed people, and only when her younger brother hit his hands against the glass and stuck his nose to her, looked at the figure of such a longing person.
— Dad! - Shiro shouted, beating the glass with a fist. He looked at his sister, but her face did not show joy. Her anxiety increased. — Tanja?
— I'm a bit worried - she whispered and ran her long, bright waves over her right shoulder.
— Me too... - He lowered his eyes. — But we will manage, right? - He hugged her belly. She stroked his head and closed her eyes.
The train stopped not as violently as they expected. People began to slowly pour out of the wagon. The siblings came out of it last. Brown-haired boy who saved young Tenzou from falling - he nodded to him, and his purple-haired girlfriend waved to them, sending a warm smile. The children returned the gesture and began to look around all the people. Everyone greeted, hugged and kissed each other. Some cried with happiness. Shiro shook his head vigorously in search of their attachment point. When he finally saw him, he seized Tanja's wrist and pulled her with him. Their father, after locating them, began to squeeze through the crowd, without the courtesy. They bumped into each other and locked themselves in a strong grip that no one could tear. Shiro began to sob loudly as his father combed his hair with his hand and examined his face. The kids did not expect such a turn of events, after all they had some kind of sorrow for their father...
— Is everything ok?! - the man shouted as his eyes filled with tears. — Are you okay? God... God, I thought I would never see you again! - He caught Tanja's arms and hugged her tightly.
— We are, dad... - she whispered, closing her eyelids. — We are...
— Safe and sound - added Shiro.

— I am the commander of medical services! - Haruno's voice melted into the dark room. There was one completely glazed wall overlooking the colossal laboratory. The girl's scream silenced the people gathered in the office, including General Shimura, who was trying to take her nervousness with stoic calmness. — Nobody told me that the children would come.
— I hear it the second time Major and again I do not know what the problem really is - answered Danzou.
— We have not established the protocol for minors. - Sakura tried to calm her breath. — We have issues of disease and sanitation. Not to mention we don't fully understand the virus yet. It just seems to us that we know everything about him!
— We have established after all - sighed the general — that it did not manage to go cross-species.
— That's right - murmured green-eyed, sitting down the chair.
— It also did not manage to go airborne and - he stood up and walked to the window. He folded his hands on his kidneys and watched the chemists working. — the last infected human died six months ago.
— We came here half a year ago - she acknowledged without hiding her nervousness.
— Major, what are you afraid of? - He turned and stared at her, which made her unpleasant shudder.
— What if it comes back? - she whispered, closing her eyelids.
— It will not come back - Shimura murmured hard.
— What if it does? - She jerked her head up and bit her lower lip nervously.
— If it comes back, we kill it. - At these words, the green irises hid under the pupils.
— General... - she said a with a restless breath.
— Code Red, major.

— Come on kids! - Brown-haired man shouted, urging offspring. He was dragging their suitcases behind them and showed them all the buildings they passed. He was not able to stop his joy caused by their presence, and emotions were bubbling up in him. — Shiro, what about this place, then?
— It's pretty cool, dad - he said as his head revolved around him. — It's nice here.
— Look there - The man nodded at the monumentally tall, glazed block - It's 25 floors. We have got the penthouse up there.
— Do you speak seriously? - Tanja stood in place and looked at her father in astonishment, who turned toward her and nodded in agreement. — What were you doing here all this time? - she continued, catching up with both of them.
— What was I doing? - he murmured, walking forward with a fairly proud face. — I'm a section officer. I keep the lights on, the water running, the heat running. - He put his hand in his pocket and began to look for something. After a moment, he pulled out and waved a plastic rectangle in front of his eyes, which showed his picture and Yamato Tenzou in bold print. - See this? Look. That says triple A - "access all areas". That's me. I basically run the place, you know.
— No, You're the caretaker really, aren't you? - a girl snickered, who together with a smiled younger brother from her observation, entered the chamber of rotating, automatic, four-doored doors.
They stopped and the youngsters hit their faces with glass. Rubbing their noses, they looked at the father who was standing in front of the entrance and pressed the button blocking the entrances. The alarm rang out loud, and his face showed superiority over them.
He placed the card in the reader, thanks to which the mermaid fell silent and the door re-established itself. He caught up with the children, handed them the suitcases, and overtook them with a triumphant expression on his face.
— No, I run the place - he repeated.

— Wow! - Shiro ran into the apartment straight to the window imitating the outer wall. He put his nose and palms on him, his colorful iris reflecting in a tear-free glass. The panorama of London gave the impression that there was no end. In some places there were still puffs of the morning mist, which nothing could move in the dead city.
— Do you like it? - Yamato came in right after the boy and daughter. He closed the door and put the suitcases back under the milk-white wall, then rested his hands on the sides. Tanja spun around herself, examining all modern equipment.
— Amazing! - The young boy turned to them with wide eyes.
— Better than in sunny Spain? - laughed a brown-haired, then poured himself a glass of water and took a sip.
— Are you kidding me? - The blonde entered the bedroom meant for her and her brother. — Everything was beautiful until we landed in a refugee camp. - She opened the cardboard box on her bed and pulled out a polo shirt in a rotten green color. She knew that she could not count on super designer clothes, so she did not even crook a face, glad that they still care about their comfort. — There were twenty people in each tent. In addition chemical toilets... - she sighed, returning to the spacious, bright living room.
— Everything smelled of piss - Shiro murmured, falling to the couch next to his sister.
— Pleasantly, right? - She smiled stupidly, covering her face with her arms as she leaned her head against the headboard.
— In a few months we will move to a new house - Yamato murmured, sitting in the chair opposite the children. The smile on his son's face quickly disappeared, and the daughter looked at him from under her arms.
— To new house? - she whispered.
— Yes... - he replied resignedly. — I hope you understand that. We can not go back to the old apartment. The building is outside the safe zone... - he closed his eyes and mouth. He took a deep breath in the air and looked at the window. — Besides, I would not want to go back there, even if I could...
— What happened, dad? - his daughter's voice knocked him out of his reverie. He looked at her when she sat down normally like her brother. He did not want this conversation, even though he was ready for it. — What happened with... With mom?
— Yes... About that... - He behaved like a beaten dog seeking escape. He could not look them in the eye. He flexed his fingers nervously. There were topics in life that were difficult to talk to youth, especially as a parent. But he never thought that something like that would happen. It was simpler in the imagination than now, when both of them were sitting in front of him and waiting for an answer. — Together with mom... Uhm... We ran away. We ran two days and two nights looking for a place where one could hide from them... In the end, we succeeded. An old couple took us in, in the countryside. In addition to our four, Jacob, Karen and her boyfriend were there... I do not even remember what his name was. - He was breathing harder and harder. — Everything was fine, we spent two weeks there. No light, no water... But fortunately, the old people had a lot of supplies, as in such remote places the inhabitants were in the habit. One day, we heard a scream. Small child, boy... He knocked to us, crying desperately for help, to let him in. Kurenai told me to do it, although I had a bad feeling. However, I left for him. - The children did not take their eyes off the man. Until now, they have not realized what terror all the people in United Kingdom were subjected to. — The young boy came, ate... But he brought this shit with him. They entered through the front door... They infected Karen... I killed two and had to run away, earlier I had my mother go to the barn with the rest and barricade the door. As it turned out later, she moved to the top of the house where we were, just after this scared child. I ran after her, after her voice... - His eyes glazed. He began to clench his thighs. — When I got there, it was too late... They circled her...
— No... - Tanja said. She put her hands to her mouth and large glass peas poured down her cheeks. Shiro remained completely still. The girl sobbed loudly. — You could not do anything?
— Sadly... - He turned his hurted look away. — I managed to escape; I jumped out the window, ran ahead of the river, reached the boat and sailed away... You know the rest. I got to the military base, I quarantined, all the tests...And then I was just waiting for your arrival... - He looked at the siblings, whose eyes shone with sadness. Shiro slumped on the couch and stared at his thighs, and Tanja did not take her eyes off her father.
— We are glad - she said — that you are alive.
— Forgive me... - He buried his face in his hands. — Please, forgive.

The tallest building, fifty-three floors, had one of the eleven helicopter paddocks in the first district on its roof. But right here, on the big, circular markings for helicopters — rested Boeing AH-64 Apache. The clock on the high edifice of the old church was already indicating the twenty-third, and the darkness covered everything he could. The only light came from one of the lanterns, the bulb blinking in an incredibly irritating way. A gray-haired man resting in his machine, unfolded the chair, leaned his feet on the dashboard, and slid on his head a big of black headphones. He placed the rifle between the front seats, then looked up, where there was a small drawing of a helicopter over which the children's handwriting was written I love you dad! He put two fingers to his lips and then touched them with a picture. His mind was influenced by the loud sounds of one of his favorite pieces of AC/DC, For those about to rock. Was this evening to be the day of judgment in view of his inattention?
He closed his eyes, put his arms over his chest, and nodded to the guitar in the hands of Angus Young. So he did not have the slightest chance to notice that the shadow of a man was moving at an unbelievably fast pace, to that in his direction. He began to tap with the right hand on his left shoulder bicep. After a moment he fell asleep... The closed eyelids did not even allow him to see a pair of hands that caught his neck in a flash and began to shake him, which was echoed by someone's scream. The headphones slid down and fell to the floor, and he himself caught the attacker's shoulders in horror, who instead of burying himself in his body and tearing it apart - he laughed aloud when Hatake pushed him away.
— Get lost, you idiot! - he shouted, correcting the chafer around his neck, mouth and nose. He glanced at the blonde who was curling with laughter on the open door of the helicopter. — A damn funny, you clown! I could have shot you!
— Och, fuck... I can not - Naruto snorted, holding his stomach. — I've never seen you get so white! - He took a deep breath and calmed down, then looked seriously at Kakashi, moving his head ostentatiously — Good morning.
— Fuck off - he growled, leaning back in his chair. — I had such a nice dream... - He closed his eyelids and his chest filled with air. — Sunday afternoon, clear blue skies. I'm laying in bed with my wife, and now I'm back in this shithole again.
— From somewhere I know it, my friend... - The blond leaned his hand on the gray-haired shoulder, who glanced at him suspiciously and looked seriously at him. — I had an identical dream... With the participation of your wife. - He suppressed a laugh when an older friend sold him, not so tender, a blow to the stomach.
— Get lost! Quit fucking with me... - There was also amusement in his voice. Naruto corrected the rifle slung over his back, saluted him loosely with two fingers and began to move away towards the ladder, still chuckling. — Watch out Uzumaki, next time I'm gonna shoot you!
— Yeeeeees, yeees... See ya later, family man! - he shouted back and disappeared behind the gigantic fans.
— Clown... - Kakashi murmured, then raised his headphones, took the previous position, and closed his eyes. However, this time he put his weapon on his knees. Not two minutes later, when he was caught again by the neck and began to throw it hard enough that the propellers of the helicopter were moving. — THIS IS THE LAST WARNING, NARUTO! - he shouted, thrusting the end of the rifle into his stomach and laughing stupidly, trying to stop the amusement. — I'm gonna shoot you, bastard!
— Haaahaah... Hold on! - he said, leaving. He made rhythmic steps until he was at the ladder. He slid across four stories and fell on one of the balconies. He turned to the right, jumped the balustrade efficiently and leaned against her. He tilted his head to one side, glancing across the block opposite. In many apartments, the light was still on. He waved to one of his friends who was nearby and had the same intentions as he did. He pulled the weapon from his back, leaned it and himself comfortably on the railing and bent down with a smile to look through the viewfinder. He turned on the microphone in the receiver and whispered: — What do we have on TV today?
He looked at the individual apartments with attention, although little interested him. In one apartment, an older couple watched television... In another guy was riding a stationary bike. In the next, the woman knelt beside the bed and prayed to the cross hung on the wall, and the window next to her, young people, most likely fiancés - they argued fiercely, waving their hands. He laughed when he saw a couple who had passionate sex without any cover. The honest smile, however, turned into a gentle curve created from the mouth when he looked at a room with two beds.
There was a young girl with long blond hair sitting on one and reading a book. On the other bed, a small boy was jumping up, to which a tall man approached and turned him over to the mattress. He felt a strange, pleasant warmth inside. The light went out, and the young people went down to sleep...
The viewfinder, however, turned towards one more window. In a dark room with only a faint light from a bulb on the desk - a young woman was sitting. He noticed that she had the same military trousers as him, and the camo jacket with national decorations was slung over the back of the chair she was sitting on. A dog tag hung on her neck. She had shoulder-length pink hair and even from there he could see the juicy green eyes. She chewed nervously on the tip of the pen looking at one point on the wall. He narrowed his eyelids, seeing sadness in her face mixed with nervousness. He did not understand why, but he felt a great urge to find out what bothered her. At that moment her foggy look sharpened and moved toward the window. Seeing her profile seemed to be really beautiful, but the sight of the entire face made him suck in the air loudly. Especially that she was looking straight at him. Still, her eyes were absent.

Her face, it would seem, was perfectly normal... In an intact condition. Long, black, waves were running down her shoulders, her face was not expressing any emotions. Her colorful irises looked straight into his eyes. She did not move, she did not speak. He wanted to reach out to her, but at the same time she put her hands to her mouth, dug her nails into her skin and began to rip her off...
— Mom! - he shouted, ripping himself up on the bed. His scream and spasmodic breath woke up his sister, who leaned on her shoulder and watched him in horror.
— Shiro, are you okay? - she whispered as the boy quickly jumped from his mattress and slid under the covers. He stared into her eyes, sweat streaking down his temples. — It was just a bad dream... - she tried to calm him down.
— I'm afraid I will forget how she looked... - He clenched his hand on the pillow.
— You won't forget... - She stroked his head.
— I do not even have a photo of her...
— You won't forget - she repeated firmly, sure of her words.
— You promise?
— Promise.
