IV. Rebellion

Yamato was rushing through the narrow corridor that illuminated by the pale light of old lamps. One of them was flickering, teasing his eyes and shattered nerves. The man was clenching his fists, having no idea how the confrontation with the children would go, let alone with Kurenai. All the time it did not reach him that it was true. He was telling himself that what he had heard from two soldiers was a joke... There was a moment when he repeated in his mind like a mantra, that yes - they found her. But dead. Of course, he did not have that hope, but remembering the view from the village, the whole situation was becoming impossible for him.
— Mr. Tenzou? — He heard behind him as he passed one of the glass rooms.
He stopped at the place and looked behind him. A strong, uniformed man looked at him from the office and watched him, waiting for some answer.
— Yes — he grumbled after a while.
The soldier stepped back for a moment, picked up keys and a shortwave from the desk. He left the room and closed the door behind him, then walked forward, ahead of the brown-haired man.
— Please, follow me, you will not find them yourself — he said, not waiting for him.
After less than five minutes, they stood under the swinging door. The officer pushed them and entered the room, and Yamato right behind him. The room was small and dark, there was a table, two chairs and an old radio that cracked in a very annoying way. But Yamato's eyes went straight ahead.
The children were divided from him by a thick, concrete wall with built-in armored glass and doors that open to a magnetic card and a PIN code. When he realized that his offspring is in the cell for the really dangerous types, he shook his head with resignation. He came closer to the window; Tanja was sitting at a table and nervously scribbled something on the sheet, and Shiro lay on the bed, staring at something as mesmerized. Yamato noticed only after a moment that it was a well known photo for him.
The soldier pressed a button on a small device that looked like an intercom and glanced at the man, standing a little apart and crossing his hands on the kidneys.
— They hear me? — Tenzou asked, glancing at the uniformed man who nodded in response. — Why did you do it? — He turned directly to the offspring.
— Apparently, you've seen how she died — the daughter said in a very dismissive manner. She did not take her eyes off the page, but her hand began to move faster.
Shiro rose and sat cross-legged, putting the picture on the pillow. He knew what would happen soon. He did not like it when anyone in the family argued, but today he knew that his sister's words would be right.
— What? — The man snorted, painfully trying to be surprised.
Tanja slammed her hand against the table, dropping the pen on the ground and getting up from the chair, which fell on the cold, stone floor. She approached the window, and Yamato, though he knew she could not get him from there, instinctively took a step back.
— You said — she screamed, frowning angrily — that she died! In front of your eyes!
— I did not say that — he grunted, cocking his head to one side. His tone gave the impression that he was surprised himself.
— You said so — she hissed through her teeth.
— I did not use such words! — He shrugged his shoulders nervously. He glanced at Shiro, who slid off the bed and headed toward him to stand beside his sister. — This is... God, I do not know anymore myself! This is damn complicated. You can not imagine it, you did not have that contact with it... If you saw them, you yourself would doubt! It's hard to explain…
— At least, fucking, try! — she screamed, clenching her fists. — You owe us this, damn it!
— Try?! What do you want to hear?! — he shouted, flicking his gaze from girl to boyfriend and vice versa. He felt small bombs exploding in him, he wanted to fall under the ground and not get out from under it. On the other hand, he never wanted anything so much, like seeing her now... — It seemed to me that I saw your mother die... This can not be explained otherwise... But I never said I was one hundred percent sure she was dead. I would not say otherwise... — he sighed and grabbed his head. His voice and will began to break. — I do not understand it either... But I'm glad... Your mother is alive.
— I want to see her! — Shiro shouted.

— Get out of here. — Naruto's voice drew attention to the brown haired man, who leaned on the railing and smoking a cigarette. The man turned to the blond man and smiled mockingly.
— Why so early? — he murmured, throwing the pet on the ground. He crushed it with his sole and picked up his rifle. He studied the companion, then shrugged when he passed him and walked to the edge of the roof of the block they were on. —Oi, man!
— I don't what to do — he snorted, taking off the weapon from his back. — I am changing you earlier... You always complain that you do not have time for anything, I give it to you, so move your ass and get out of my sight.
— Oi, what's with you? — This time he got worried. He had never heard such a tone from blue-eyed man, in addition he was usually nice and cheerful. At that moment an unpleasant aura was beating from him.
— Jack, piss off — he growled, glaring at him ominously. — I'm not in the mood. You'll get a bullet in the head in a moment.
— Okay, okay... — he said, turning toward the stairs. — See you later.
Naruto did not answer him anymore. He breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the soldier disappear around the corner, and after a moment he heard footsteps moving away. As the sound of the rubber soles about the metal stairs finally disappeared completely, he turned and leaned his elbows on the balustrade. Warm rays of the setting sun, surrounding his face, were gently warming his cheeks. Squinted eyes, staring off somewhere in the distance, losing their focus, and in the stomach a strange something was whirling, something he could not describe, even if he wanted to. He closed his eyelids and took a lot of air into his lungs. It was only at that moment that he felt how tense he was. Gentle spasms made themselves felt in some parts of the muscles, and a strange noise spread across his head.
— Hey, Romeo. — The voice of his friend, who came out of the receiver, pulled him to the ground. He looked around the roof where he could see the helicopter and after a while he located Hatake watching him. — What's with you?
The blond did not answer, but still watched Kakashi with strange attention. Gray-haired pulled something out of his pocket and looked at it.
— Jump on private.
The boy closed his eyes and sighed. He reached into his own vest pocket and took out a shortwave radio to which his earpiece was connected. He pulled the knob down, dropping fourteen stations below, and put the device back into the storage compartment. He hid his face in his hands and pressed his fingertip down to his forehead.
— What's with you? — repeated the gray-haired.
— I don't know — he replied casually. He bounced his hips from the railing and turned on his heel vigorously. — There is something strange and unpleasant following me. Some stupid premonition.
— We've been here for some time... You have the right to freak out — Kakashi noticed. — I myself find myself more and more often in strange states…
— It is not it — the blond man interrupted him. — Don't you sometimes have the impression that something bad is coming?
— It means?
— Hunch... — smacked his lips, wondering how the easiest way to illustrate the unusual state, which troubled him. — I have almost one hundred percent certainty that something bad will happen.
— Two hours ago you were very enthusiastic. — He laughed.
— No one understands me... — He sighed.
He wanted to say something more, but his thought interrupted the whistle from the roof of the building next door. Naruto looked to the left and saw Sam, who tapped the phone three times with his finger, then raised his arms in a gesture of surprise.
— I think they're calling us, let's go back — He said quickly, then again entertained the knob radios.
— ...maki, report back. — Crackled. The voice did not belong to any of their companions.
— Uzumaki? — The blond made sure.
— You, Hatake and Uchiha. You are immediately called to Colonel Sabaku.
— Roger — he groaned loudly swallowing saliva.
His gaze moved energetically to Kakashi, who was also gazing perplexed at his friend. After a moment, both of them broke into a run and headed down.

— This fucking Sasuke, seriously?! — growled Kakashi, clenching his fists. If he had to give someone a special aversion, it was only his. — Fuck, everyone, but not him! Whatever it will be, thanks to him will be fucked! — He slammed his hand against the door with such force that it bounced back against the wall with a bang and almost broke Naruto's nose.
— Dude, take it easy, the hell! — the blond shouted when he caught up with his friend. — We don't even know what's going on.
— No matter. He'll be there, that's reason enough to upset me — the man hissed. Uzumaki rolled his eyes and adjusted the vest.
The rest of the road passed in silence. Blue-eyed preferred not to annoy Hatake anymore, perfectly aware of this, that he could get violently hit by him, and he didn't have the slightest desire for that. Three minutes later, in the company of several other uniformed men, they entered the training room, where there were already about thirty people. They stood in a double row, straight to the pain of the spine and waited for the colonel.
— I don't see that son of a bitch. — Kakashi leaned over Naruto's ear and looked suspiciously at the current faces.
Naruto sighed loudly with a helpless smile that disappeared as soon as a red-haired man entered the room. He stiffened again, taking the position to attention, but in the spirit he refrained from laughing when he heard the massive clap when everyone saluted.
— At ease. — Gaara's murmur was, as usual, quiet, but resounding.
Sabaku only looked like a dangerous type who could cut your throat anytime, szajbusbut he was quite normal inside. This didn't mean, however, that he could not be stern or unfriendly, or aggressive and capable of killing. He aroused general respect, not really making efforts.
— I called you because you are the best — he grunted, pulling off his military jacket. He hung it in a nearby chair, returned to his seat, folded his hands on his kidneys, and looked at the gathered people. — We got weird information from today's night patrol. Two of our soldiers are dead. Several are missing.
— THESE FUCKERS ARE STILL RUNNING AROUND HERE?! — a man shouted.
Uzumaki covered his mouth to not burst out laughing, and Kakashi, for protection, snapped his ear very hard.
— Hashirama, watch out. — Gaara began to massage the space between his eyebrows with his finger. — No, it's not those fu... Bastards.
— Sabotage? — Hatake's voice rang in Naruto's head.
— It passed over ours head — Sabaku replied, moving his gaze directly to at the two friends. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Naruto's hand, which massaged his sore ear. — In any case, we have no idea what is going on, and our enemy is neither stupid nor weak. We have to be reckoned with.
His words were interrupted by the creak of the door. He only turned his head and watched scowling, as Sasuke lazily goes to the meeting place and finds a place without a word. Naruto felt a blow from the heat from behind him, caused by the influx of gray-haired man's irrepressible anger.
— Why you are late? — The redhead man didn't even look at the newcomer.
— It came out this way, I mistaken the hall — he said, laughing to his friend.
— God made a mistake, allowing you to join the army — summed Kakashi.
A loud chuckle tore the silence that grew after the words of the young Uchiha. The dark-haired man turned evil look at Hatake, but did not hold it for long, knowing what he is able to do. Their fights were known by the whole campaign.
— I would like to mention — Sabaku cleared his throat — that any insubordination is subject to severe punishment. You get orders and instructions that you should stick to strictly. Insulting any command will have consequences you really will regret.
— What can you do to us? — Sasuke apparently wanted to get something today and he was going in the right direction.
— Much. — Gaara smiled ironically and inhaled. — Okay, we divide into groups, boys. As I intend to participate in today's trip, I go out with the chosen ones and go to the most important place. The rest of the groups are choosing the leader who will receive coordinates and other crap from me.

— I don't understand. — Kakashi stood by the wall, leaning against it with his forehead. His eyes were numb and his mind was troubled. — Really... I don't understand.
— Oh, stop it already, it's just one expedition! — shouted Naruto, correcting magazines attached to the belt of trousers. — It won't be that bad, in the end we are going also with Gaara and that big one. They hate Sasuke too.
— But why does he have to go with us?! — The gray-haired man bounced off the cool shell and adhered with his back to it again.
— He is one of the best people. — The blond began to fight the walkie-talkies with the receiver. — I guess you saw how we got selected. The best of the best, isn't it?
— The blondie is right! — A cheerful shout of a well-known voice spread behind Uzumaki's back. — Kakashi, dob't worry about that bungler. We will go there, we will do what we have to do and we'll be back.
— Madara. — Hatake smiled and gave the man a high five, just like Naruto. — In sense both of you are right, but its presence is just... pissing me off.
— Colonel will be with us, so there will be no stress. — Brown-haired man laughed. — We will finally restrain him in a proper way. Are we going to a relaxing cigarette?
— Necessarily. — Kakashi adjusted the hood of his sweatshirt and headed toward the door.
Arranged with Sabaku at sixteen thirty on the main platform, from where the train was to take them to the appropriate zone from which they will depart - they left the room without any questions. They went out into a long corridor, whose walls were painted with an unpleasant, celadon color, and if it weren't for the presence of lamps, there would be an unimaginable darkness.
— Oi, lovelass — murmured Hatake. Naruto, walking in front of him and Madara, with his head down, looked up and felt a strange load that traveled through the entire body in two seconds. From around the corner came a pink-haired woman whom he had not seen in his long time.
The girl didn't notice him at first, but when they were passing each other, Hatake didn't hesitate to gently push his friend on her. They hit each other with their shoulders, almost repeating the situation from the canteen when she was about to drop the bundle of papers she was carrying. The blond, however, grabbed them efficiently.
— You like to bump into each other, huh? — said the gray-haired man, passing them by.
The girl looked at the man and blushed gently. She took the documents from Naruto and looked at him. Once again, his smile and eyes set her in an incredibly strange state.
— Do you... — she began, looking over his shoulder, at the soldiers leaving the room. — Do you embark on this mission too?
— Yes... — he muttered, putting his hands in his pocket. — Together with these two, Sasuke Uchiha and colonel Sabaku.
He was surprised to see her nervousness. Did even she know what was behind the walls? Maybe he really should not take it easy, since everyone reacts strangely to going out of the district.
However, it was not the most important at the moment, because the moment of silence that prevailed between them - was prolonging. He wondered if he could finally introduce himself to her? They had contact with each other, it would not be so stupid? He wanted to know her name... And he could not see ID.  And what if her data was hidden? After all, she's from special services… Or maybe just ask for a dinner when he comes back? If he comes back at all…
— Hey, you got pale — she murmured, reaching out to his face. — Did something happen?  — she asked suddenly. He shook his head, as if to ward off thoughts of the coming death and stared at her lips. Some magnetic force didn't let him turn it around. He would have given everything to be able to try them at the moment, regardless of the fact that she noticed it and blushed deeply.
— Major, follow me. — A low, masculine voice reached him. As if in slow pace, he saw Shimura overtake him and green-eyed, and the scorn from him made the blond feel strange nervousness.
— Sorry, I have to go — she whispered. She put a hand on his shoulder and passed him. — Be careful.
— Move your ass! — Kakashi's scream brought him down to earth after he caught her worried look.
— For you, I even wouldn't go there — he murmured to himself, looking after her with his eyes. A strange despondency came over him, but when she looked at him one last time over his shoulder, he gave her another sincere smile. He turned behind himself, caught up with gray-haired man and Madara, and left the headquarters.

— Hold me, because in a moment I will do something to him! — Naruto raised his arms in the air and had a necessary desire to strangle Hatake. — It's colonel's jeep, understandable that he will drive. Madara is a big man, he has to sit in front. It won't kill you half an hour's ride with Sasuke in the back.
— Yes, it will — grumbled, inhaling the smoke from the cigarette. Uzumaki approached him, with anger pulled out his cigarette and threw it on the ground, then trampled on it angrily. — Are you fucked up?!
— You are smoking third in a row, pull yourself together! — shouted blond-haired, putting on a military vest, bulletproof. — Adult, and stupid like a child.
He didn't have time to look back at him when he felt a blow to the head. Kakashi was filled with anger, but nothing entitled him to discharge the anger on his younger friend, which he has just driven crazy. They rushed to each other and began to jerk, banging against the walls of the warehouse and knocking over the chairs. The thud of metal cabinets had to spread throughout the building, just like their screams and blasphemy.
— Can you stop unloading your frustration on me?! — The blond man threw himself with Hatake on the floor and pressed him to her, holding his arms. — I think you need a forced vacation, old man!
— Damn you Uzumaki! — he howled, hitting his knee in the back.
— What's going on here?! — Sabaku's voice echoed around the small room.
A moment later a larger Uchiha jumped from behind him and caught the warriors. He separated them and laughed, looking at their red faces, creased clothes and disheveled hair.
— And you what? — he snorted, picking up from the ground Hatake. — You got a period?
— Someone here got crazy — growled blue-eyed, correcting his military vest. — Take the cigarettes away from him, he smokes worse than the chimney.
— Don't tell me that it broke out cause of a stupid cigarette. — Madara pulled the vest off the hanger and pulled it on.
— I don't know what it was, guys... However, I will turn a blind eye to it and hope it will not happen again. — Gaara rummaged in one of the lockers and didn't even look at them.
The boys huffed at each other and continued packing. Soon after, they left in front of the warehouse, where the red-haired man was waiting for them in the jeep, and next to him stood Sasuke, who clearly wanted to let them know that he didn't want to sit with them. Young Uchiha has already grabbed the door handle on the front passenger side, but Madara pushed him away with one move from the door.
— Unfortunately, my dear, this is my place — he said and shoved himself next to Sabaku.
Naruto sensed the tension between Kakashi and the young dark-haired man and did not know how to neutralize them as quickly as possible, so as not to lead to a struggle between him and his friend again. He knew that if the colonel and the big man had not entered at that moment, they would have been beating their faces so far, for no good reason.
— I will sit in the middle — he sighed, thinning his strands of hair with his hand.
As he said, he packed himself into the place he indicated and looked blankly at the mirror through which the two sitting in front watched him. Gaara smiled in relief and gratitude, and Madara winked. When the door to his left and right slammed shut, Sabaku started the engine and after a while, they were passing through the main gate.
— When we will be there? — muttered Sasuke.
— Half an hour, maximum — replied red-haired turning left.
Five other vehicles followed their vehicle, but Naruto had the impression that only their car resembles a time bomb inside. Kakashi, quite puffed up, looked out the window, and his eyes chasing the objects he passed. The younger brown-haired man put on headphones and apparently didn't intend to mate with anyone.
— What a mess... — Blond haired man whispered to himself, rolled his eyes and leaned his head against the bolster.
He closed his eyes and tried to listen in Machine gun from Jimi Hendrix, which was rumbling in the car speakers. He tried not to think about what might be waiting for him there.

The landscape changed very quickly. They were clearly leaving the zone that had been prepared for civilians and entered the desolate areas of London. Uncleaned garbage, car wrecks, overgrown gardens and houses.
— The army didn't get here? — Madara muttered, looking around and turning the lighter in his hands.
— They got here — replied Gaara. — All bodies were taken and burned from all over the country, but when it came to general cleanup, they didn't take care of everything. They wanted to prepare a sterile fragment and only later expand its area.
— How is it possible that anyone could survive in such conditions? — Kakashi crossed his arms over his chest. He thought for a moment, then sighed heavily. — All in all, it's like survival, but what a moron would run away from the army?
— You know what kind of people go around the world now, Kakashi — snorted older Uchiha. — Maybe some die-hard Bible amateurs... You know, if it happened, it means God wanted it and you have to stick to it now.
— There is something about it. — Hatake slumped in the seat and yawned loudly. — In spite of all, I'd rather be in bed.
— Relax, I already arranged with Shimura that after returning the first change you will get will be tomorrow afternoon. — Gaara drove out of the habit into the curb and stopped the car, although he could do it wherever he liked it. He undid his seat belt and turned to the passengers. — You will get to sleep well.
— Awesome — sighed Uzumaki, drawing breath into the lungs. — So let's finish it as soon as possible, I beg you.
— We're already here? — It suddenly spoke from the left side of the blond man.
Sasuke took the headphones from his ears and holding them to his head, watched the boys and waited for some reaction. They, however, gave him a short look and then climbed out of the car, ignoring him with full premeditation.
Naruto felt cool air hit his face. Dark clouds enveloped the sky, which made no one happy. He looked around the wilderness like the rest of the soldiers. He found himself breathing unevenly and his fingertips gently numb. What worried him? He didn't know... But his peace was disturbed all the time.
— Young, what are you worried about? — Madara patted him on the back, ignoring his strength, and the boy flew forward. — There will finally be something to shoot at!
— Oooo no, no, no, Madara! — Gaara almost ran to them. — We don't kill anyone, we take them with us, even if they resist. These are orders from above.
— So I got disappointed — snorted Uchiha, pulling a cigarette out of the packet.
The blond looked at Kakashi, who was supposed to do the same as the dark-haired man, but he looked at the younger friend, gave him an ironic, grumpy smile and put the cigarettes back in his pocket.
— You see? — Naruto laughed when gray-haired began to walk towards him.
— Get lost — he murmured, passing him by.
Five minutes later, all groups stood side by side, received exact orders, and scattered all over the streets of Bromley. Sabaku led his group very carefully between old tenements. They discussed something with Kakashi, the older Uchiha trod after them, admiring the landscape of extermination, and Sasuke closed the ranks.
Naruto felt something coming to his throat when he noticed over the roofs of abandoned apartments the building of one of the largest galleries that were located in these areas.
— You scared? — The voice of the younger brown-haired boy, which was steeped in venom, dispelled the boy's strange thoughts.
The blond turned to him to say something back, but his expression changed dramatically. At the same time, tearing the weapon from his back with one hand, the other pushed the boy aside. A rifle in hand, a barrel pointed towards a moving target, a muffled bang, a precision projectile fired, a moan of pain and death.
— Not bad young... — Madara nodded, not hiding the surprise from Uzumaki's quick reaction and his accuracy. — I'm impressed...
In the middle of the cluttered street lay a wolf whose light fur was soaking up the powder. Naruto wasn't a heartless killer, but wouldn't also allow anything to happen to anyone on his shift. He walked over to the animal and looked at its muzzle with nervousness.
— He had rabies, that's why he charged on us — Kakashi muttered, stopping next to him. He looked to the back of the predator and sighed loudly. — You only shortened his suffering, the worms were already eating him.
Naruto felt dinner retreating, covered his mouth and moved away from the victim. He turned in the direction they were heading from the beginning and passed Sasuke, who was still resting in the bushes and waiting for the help of his companions, who once again did not pay him special attention.

— Pretty impressive, huh? — Madara crouched down, ending his cigarette and glanced up.
Naruto and Kakashi stood next to each other, watching the building with an irresistible impression of pervasive death. The windows were broken, the glass was all around. A colossal signboard, full of broken light bulbs that once lit up the entire street, hung on the remnants of the mounts and called for help. There were papers and cardboard boxes everywhere, dozens of cars that collided, were overgrown with moss, and the birds had their nests in it. Everything said not to go there. There was nothing but the darkness that appeared just behind the scattered entrance.
— Why were we chosen for the worst job? — Naruto stood on his toes so he could whisper in the ear gray-haired.
— Think about it... If we manage to survive, at least we'll get some recognition — he replied, moving after the redhead.
— MANAGE?! — yelled Uzumaki, taking a step back.
— Come and don't whine. — Kakashi moved forward and pulled, like the others, the bandana over his nose.
They literally took a few steps, and nothing could be seen without the help of a night vision device or a flashlight. Naruto reached into the left arm on which this device was placed and turned it on, thus illuminating the wide back of Kakashi, which he would have fallen into.
All appliances, furniture and other things that once were set here in, nice to look at, order - lay destroyed on the ground. Almost all windows in the shop windows were broken. Disassembled mannequins, or rather parts thereof - were pounding on the floor, as well as damaged clothes, toys, jewelry, food leftovers... All this was mixed with dried blood and scales from the bullets.
— What a hell — whispered Sasuke, approaching the machine with drinks.
— Don't touch anything — growled Gaara softly. — I won't hesitate to shoot you if you catch something.
— Same for you — Madara laughed, pushing some door lightly with his shoe. — I don't think anyone is hiding here. Only an idiot would sit in such a tomb.
— If they believe that God sent it on them, I don't know if it is worth speculating that they are normal — said Kakashi. — I think we should go lower.
Naruto didn't feel really confident and it wasn't about fear, but about a strange anxiety that grew with each passing moment. He walked all the time with his rifle in his hands, which was leaning on his shoulder, ready to unlock the weapon and he wouldn't even think about changing it. He constantly followed the boys, trying to turn the mind off their conversations and focused on what was right.
He stopped suddenly when he heard a click. Quiet, muffled but unnatural for an abandoned building. There was a moment of considering and there was a desire to ignore the sound, but when it repeated, the blond looked vigorously around himself. He found some doors, which he appeared at after a moment
— Please, let it be some giant, mutated rat — he whispered to himself, closing his eyelids. He pushed his foot once white, swinging wing and passed through it, holding his finger to the trigger. — Oh fuck... — He breathed, releasing air from his lungs.
The passage led out into a dark corridor. He had no idea where it was leading, but something told him to follow it. He highlighted the place that shaded on the white wall with a flashlight, where a small rectangular sign was. Gilded inscription “WAREHOUSE”, preceded by an arrow, made him shiver slightly. He was going in the right direction, but why alone? He wasn't brave, he believed in supernatural things, darkness wasn't his ally, and he felt sick at the sight of blood. So he should run away as soon as possible, meanwhile he behaved like the main character of the horror movie, who follows the path of Jucha, in order to check what will murder him in a moment, instead of escaping as far as possible.
His calm was disturbed by another rumble, which this time was louder and clearer, indicating that Uzumaki was close to the unwanted sounds. He switched off the flashlight and activated the night vision device on the back of the rifle. He brought his eye to it and began quietly and subtly approaching to the green metal door at the end of the tunnel. One of their wings was not closed. He stopped in front of this closed one, closed his eyelids, took a deep breath and then slipped into the room. The unpleasant smell of mold, mustiness and rotting meat hit his nostrils when he found himself in a gigantic, spacious warehouse. He made a low murmur as he swallowed the bile in his throat. In his life he didn't smell such, except for his trip to Afghanistan, where together with Shikamaru and Chouji, in one of the abandoned hangars, they found the massacred corpse of a family of six.
— Hmpff... — he choked out when he thought he would find the same.
The giant shelves, reminiscent of scaffolding, lay overturned on the ground, sinking in boxes and kilometers of tangled bubble wrap. He noticed that there were several skylights in the ceiling that covered layers of leaves and mud. Still, they allowed little light into the room, and one of them had a warm, orange reflex that had its end on the ground, somewhere between all this mess.
The blond man wondered whether to move that way, because the growing smell of faeces was getting deadly. He was no longer protected by the bandana and the material of the gray sweatshirt hidden under the vest. On the other hand, if he checks this magazine carefully, he won't have to come back here with the boys a second time. He sighed loudly and started walking. He began to squeeze between all the junk, regretting more and more the decision he had just made. The buzzing sound of the nest, full of angry hornets, deterred him even more. He told himself that he would be back soon in a district where he didn't smell like shit, will take a shower and go to sleep. He didn't know just how much awaits for him before coming back…
— Oh fuck! — he growled, taking a quick step back. He tripped over a metal tube and caught his balance at the last moment.
A trail of light from the skylight, like a sunbeam, fell on a pile of piles of at least twenty bodies. He gazed at the faces twisted in before-death pain. Women, men, children... Bruises on the shoulders, necks; cut wounds. Two soldiers with their throats slit lay on top. He felt his whole body go numb to his fingertips. The look of blue eyes stopped on the face of the guy whose eye sockets were crawling with white larvae of flies. He turned back energetically, ripped the bandana off his nose, pulled his arms back and vomited profusely, staggering dangerously.
— What a fucking shit! — he croaked, feeling the uncontrollable tears stop at the eyelid borders. He glanced out at the corpses and tried to find the infected among them. They were not there... Everything pointed to mere barbarism.
It crossed his mind that the upper parts of the local board wanted to get rid of civilians who might have witnessed some strange acts or situations. Hatred and selfishness are the disease of these times, and protecting your own ass comes first, maybe he was right?
He was still bending over the ground, feeling that he would repeat the vomiting maneuver, but everything backed into his stomach when he heard the weapon getting unlocked. He straightened up and looked in the right direction. Behind the bodies was a large silhouette, and the light covered only the matte black of the gun, pointed straight at him.
He hesitated for a moment, thinking that it was one of the boys, but he remembered that their equipment wasn't ordinary pistol. He began very slowly pointing his left hand to the rifle he was holding, wanting to grab it well and be able to stop the barrel at the right height to kill the attacker. Ale zanim to zrobił, usłyszał za sobą gwizd powietrza, a potem niesamowity ból kości ogonowej. He fell to his knees, the weapon fell to the ground, and he began to recall the content of prayer, which he didn't say for years. He turned his head sideways, and out of the corner of his eye looked at his torturers. One of two men, dark-skinned - threw a blood-stained baseball bat over his shoulder, which he had just hit him and showed him an incomplete array of yellowed teeth.
— Well, I didn't expect the army to send us more meat so quickly — murmured brown-haired, standing next to the athlete. — What are you looking for here?
— Guess it, fucker. — Naruto snapped on him, then pointed his chin at the bodies, holding hands at head height, in the act of surrender. — This is your doing?
— Look Dann — snorted the owner of baseball. — You can see that it wasn't even in contact with all this hell. You don't know how looked the infected to ask us?
— Why did you murder these people? — Uzumaki jerked when brown-haired grabbed his jacket and pulled away from the ground.
— Not your business — hissed in his face.
Once again he wanted to vomit, this time cause of the smell coming out of the enemy's mouth, but he decided that he would keep the rest of tact leftovers and refrain.
— Whether you kill me now or not - you will fall into the hands of the army anyway — said blond. Nothing irritated him as much as the fact that a stranger touches him and jerks him. He felt like shooting away his balls. — Why are you doing this? Why don't you want to quarantine and live a normal life as you did before?
— Normal? — Brown-haired literally spit on Naruto's left profile, to which the boy reacted with an aggressive movement of the head, but he failed to hit her with the intruder. — You fucking Americans standing twenty-four hours a day above us... What's normal in that?
— We were sent here for your sake and not forever... — The boy tried to calm his breath. — I ask you one last time, why did you kill these people?
— Why do you think God has sent this upon us? — Baseball player nodded his stick like a pendulum and smoked a cigarette.
— God? Fuck, God? — The blond felt blood pouring over him. — Not God, only three pseudo animal protectors! Idiotic teenagers with weed-burned minds who released their beloved chimpanzees that bit their arteries from their necks off. A strange notion of faith as well as a disturbed deity system. What, the fuck, is wrong with you?!
— The Creator has come to the conclusion that this world must end. — The man completely ignored his words. — That's why it all happens. But they all died... You killed them. We must complete the plan of God that was written to us.
Naruto watched him, contorting his mouth at Chinese eight.
— Are you fucked up? — he asked suddenly, feeling his body tremble. — Fucked up — he nodded to himself.
— God will punish you! — Brown-haired once again jerked him, which resulted in the unexpected ignition of Uzumaki.
The blond man escaped, quickly leaned over, grabbed the rifle, supported him on the shoulder and put a cold barrel to Dann's forehead, breathing furiously.
— It's you who should be killed — he panted, wanting to kill him. He moved aggressively his gun to the baseball player who rushed at him. — One more step and I will shoot you and you won't have the chance to fulfill God's will.
— Naruto! — Hearing Madara's voice, he felt his muscles that were tense for ten minutes gently relaxed. He wanted to turn to the friends who were coming, but he heard a shot, and after a while his left arm flew downwards. The tearing pain beamed into his hands and collarbone as the bullet ripped his skin. — Fuck! I forgot about you, trash! — he screamed, remembering the man aiming at him as he grabbed his wound.
— Stop! Do not move! — Kakashi and Gaara fell out of the darkness, aiming at the shooter and Dann.
Madara stood right behind the baseball player, snatched the stick from his hand and threw him back. He brought the man brutally to the ground. Twarze chłopców nie różniły się od twarzy Naruto, gdy po raz pierwszy zauważył rosnącą śmierć w postaci ciał cywilnych.
— Jesus Christ... — Uchiha crossed himself and swallowed loudly saliva, then looked at Uzumaki. — They did it?
— Yes... — the blond hissed, looking after his wound. The bullet flew through. He knew he had to go to the hospital as soon as possible. He opened his eyes wide and looked at the gray-haired friend watching him. — After how many seconds should I become bloodthirsty motherfucker?
— You should already be him — said Gaara, handcuffing brown-haired's wrists.
— Dave, kill them! — Dark-skinned screamed despite the face pressed against the concrete.
The man in the dark directed the barrel straight at Kakashi, but before he could shoot, a silent shot from the silencer rang out and the enemy fell to the ground.
— Ha! I got him! — shouted triumphantly Sasuke, who appeared out of nowhere.
— What an idiot! — roared Kakashi, reaching to the shot man. He didn't feel the pulse, jumped to his feet and hurriedly headed towards the younger brown-haired. — Who the fuck told you to shoot, moron!
— I saved your ass! — the boy rebelled.
— Has anyone told you?! We were not to kill anyone! — Hatake wanted to throw a rifle to the ground, to beat to dead the hated bastard.
— Kakashi is right, you could shoot in the leg, arm. Anything but killing. I said it several times — interrupted Gaara.
Uchiha muttered something under his breath and approached his victim. Kakashi walked over to the blond and illuminated the wound from which the blood was oozing. He looked at her, clucked his lips and looked at Uzumaki's pale face.
— Get undressed — ordered.
— What?! — The boy was very indignant and snatched his arm from his hand. — Listen man, I like you, but today I don't really have a good mood for gayness.
He glanced at his hand, which was full of ruby liquid, and paled, feeling dizzy.
— Take off your vest and sweatshirt, you need to disinfect and bandage it quickly. — Hatake became firm and did not intend to give up.
Ever since Uzumaki went to one platoon with him, he had the impression that gray-haired man cares for him better than his own mother before she lost her fight against the cancer. Though he had the impression that no woman in this world just could not have been more annoying and overprotective than Kushina, increasingly he wanted to blame as the older friend.
— NO, THANKS — snorted offended. — I survive, I prefer the doctors to take care of it.
— You're getting on my nerves today so much — murmured Kakashi, then took care of himself.
— Okay, let's get out of here. — Gaara stabbed his victim in the back with a rifle, and he went towards the exit.
Although they spent a lot of time here and their sense of smell got used to rot, it was still unbearable. They left the warehouse in a hurry, leading two captured rebels out of it. They slipped quickly through the dark corridor, went out into the gallery courtyard and headed for the exit.
— Naruto, I vouch for my passion for killing, that if you disappear once again without a word, I will kill you myself. — Madara was leading the dark-skinned man, smoking a cigarette and looking at his younger colleague every now and then.
Naruto scratched his neck with a healthy hand and smiled at him. He wasn't amused at all. He felt worse and worse, due to weakness caused by blood loss and a mill in his head, created by stench and events.
— I think it's insubordination, huh? Colonel? — Sasuke desperately wanted to harm Hatake or Uzumaki, but he got the opposite effect.
— Shut up — growled gray-haired.
— It wasn't Naruto who surrendered to her today, but you — Gaara replied calmly. — You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the punishment you were so curious about.
Ending a satisfactory sentence for Kakashi, he went through the entrance of the market, which in the place was once a moving door. Naruto came out last and quickly stopped thinking about things for a free evening, when he felt the icy barrel of the gun on his left temple.
— So there is a little more of you — Madara murmured softly, throwing his cigarette next to his right shoe.
The entrance of the building was surrounded by about ten God's rebels, who aimed at them with the obvious intention of eliminating the intruders. Naruto, knowing their goals before, knew that they would not hesitate to slaughter his unit like pigs. Even so, he didn't move, although the adrenaline made him regain his strength and the onset of fainting receded into its hole.
— They killed Dave... — said dark-skinned, looking at his colleagues. — Have no mercy for them.
The boys raised their arms in a gesture of surrender, although they knew they were in a losing position anyway. They could run away, risking the same... They were about to die anyway. Naruto's mind began to embrace the black vision of death. Shot by sick people they wanted to help. In the wilderness, in dead London, with comrades-in-arms under an abandoned supermarket. He knew that by joining the army he was somehow signing a declaration that he would die as an honorary fighter in the name of a better future, but he did not imagine this end as such.
Several men raised their gun barrels and seemed they were not about to wait for anything. Ready to shoot, they aimed straight at the boys' heads. Naruto felt his tormentor pressing a gun to his head, thus squeezing some nerve. He clenched his teeth so hard that his jaw was numb. He wondered if he had done everything he could do in his life to leave peacefully. He came to a specific conclusion. He did nothing at all. He looked up and scanned the navy blue sky, covered with white spots.
— Drop the weapon! — He shuddered when he heard a man scream.
He let out a breath only when the knuckle of the guy next to him crashed against the concrete. The lights of the flashlights gently blinded everyone, irritating the eyes tired of darkness.
— Where is your God now? — Hatake muttered, passing by the rebels.
It turned out that Gaara had managed to inform the rest of the troops about their location and the need to help with possible problems. Uniformed companies surrounded the rebels, and less than half an hour later the blond again took the place between Kakashi and Sasuke who was clearly afraid of returning to base.
— I feel the smell on me. — Madara knocked on the car window, behind which was only the darkness of the city without electricity.
— Yeee, shower is the first thing, that awaits me after entering the apartment — stuttered brown-haired
— Me first! — Uzumaki got indignant, sharing a room with him. — I survived more than you!
— I am older — he grunted, crossing his arms over his chest.
— Naruto — interrupted Gaara, looking at him in the mirror — the first thing that awaits you is the hospital.
The blond man glanced at his shoulder. He exposed the wound he concealed under his right hand, but he could see little in the dark. Although he didn't want to go there, he knew it was necessary. He sighed loudly and consoled himself with the thought that he was returning to a district free from a gang of psychos.

Madara and Gaara due to the fact that they had to visit the hospital and do some errands in it - brought Uzumaki there. The older nurse led the blond into a small treatment room and told him to undress, from the waist up, and then left. He stood in the middle of the room and looked helplessly at the sore, wounded shoulder, then at the window. Every person passing through the corridor could watch him calmly, and he did not necessarily have any mood for it.
— Damn — he hissed, sliding the vest carefully off himself.
He turned his back on the door and began to fight the sweatshirt. After a moment, he hung a gray T-shirt on the chair and turned back to the door. He choked with the air, noticing the tall blonde in the entrance. Maybe it wouldn't be so shocking if it wasn't for the size of her breasts and the fact that she was watching him closely.
— Well, well — she smacked her lips and closed the door behind her. — It's been a long time since I had such a nice body here.
Uzumaki inhaled again, not knowing what to say.
— Relax, I won't hurt you — she said, putting on the table not filled yet patient card. — My god, is this your first scar?
— No. — he smiled, feeling sympathy from a woman. — I was lucky enough that when someone hurt me, it were my legs.
— What do you do boy? — she asked, pointing at the bed.
— Sniper — he replied, sitting down politely. In addition to sympathy, he also felt a strange respect.
— It will have to be sewed — she whispered, looking after the wound. She narrowed her eyes and walked away from him to prepare the necessary things. — Do you wish for, sunshine, anesthesia?
— Maybe I can do it. — He waved with healthy hand. — Since I survived numerous shots, I will survive sewing.
She brought a metal table on wheels to the bed, on which she unfolded everything and looked at the blonde with astonishment. He watched her ID, sticking out of her pocket - it revealed her name.
— I don't understand something... — she murmured, putting on her gloves. After a while, she began to clean the wound. — You speak like you have never been sewn. And if so…
— I was. Every time — he snorted. — The problem is that at the sight of gushing blood, I was fainting and they were giving me anesthesia without my permission.
— Military? Faints at the sight of blood? — she laughed, pulling out a clean needle from the packaging. — That's pretty ridiculous.
— I know that very well. — He tried to relax, seeing the woman already thread the surgical thread through the eye of the needle. — Doctors on my research found hemophobia, but my uncle knew perfectly well that I had innate talent and an extremely good eye. He took me into the army despite this ailment and now I am here. — he hissed his last words as the woman for the first pulled the thread through his skin. It was more unpleasant than just piercing a needle.
— And what? — she asked quietly, focusing on her job. — Fight fire with fire... Have you got a bit more resistance?
— You can say yes. — He clenched his fingers on the sheets, not wanting to show that he felt stitches and still hurt. — Now I just feel dizzy... Maybe someday I'll win with it eventually.
— I admire you anyway — wshe sighed. — Being a sniper condemns to killing... Have you had any orders yet?
— I... — he felt strange. Nobody ever looked at it from this side, not even himself. Can he claim to be a ruthless killer? Or should he justify himself for killing in a just cause? He was eliminating bad people…
— Do not be afraid, boy. — she pulled him out of his thoughts and looked him in the eye. — tell me how many people have you killed?
— I don't know... — he whispered and looked at the floor. — I'm not able to count it. Well over two hundred…
— Hmm... — she mused. she began sewing, biting her lip. — How old are you?
— Twenty six…
— That's a nice result... — she replied, threading the thread for the last time. — You probably think you're a bad person? You should not. — The boy looked up at her and didn't hide his surprise. — You killed bad people, sunshine. You saved the innocent by doing it. I know this is not the best way to justify it, but it's the truth. Natural selection, better, stronger and smarter will survive. Fulfilling the last one wouldn't make you the goal, would it? — With the last words she cut the thread with scissors. She looked at the boy and examined his body, just like at the beginning. — Well, you can hide this body now, although in my opinion you should run like that around the district.
The amused blond man wanted to answer something, but something strange took his speech away. He stood in the middle of the room, half-naked, exposing his muscular body, developed for years of exercises, and looked at the window in disbelief. On its other side, the pink-haired girl stopped with an even more surprised face hidden under the purple coating of shame. There was numbness all over her body and her mind panicked.
The green eyes examined each scrap of his belly very carefully, and the jasmine lips were slightly parted, indicating big admiration. She finally looked up at his embarrassed face and smiled warmly, running away with her sight to the side. The right corner of his mouth swung up swiftly. He pulled a T-shirt over his head and became sad to see the girl being once again kidnapped somewhere by Shimura. He wanted to shoot him. Literally.
— We have to fill out the card and I am letting you go —  the blonde murmured, leaning over the desk. —  Name and last name?
— Naruto Uzumaki — he replied, sitting back on the bed. He pulled on his sweatshirt and picked up his vest.
—  Uzumaki... Naruto... 26 years old... — she mumbled — You could have introduce yourself first off — she snorted.
—  Do you know me? — he was surprised.
—  Sure, it is. —  She smiled, ticking off the individual squares on the card. —  Hardly anyone don't knows you... The best sniper in the district, if not in the world, huuuh? — She winked at him, and he narrowed his eyelids in response. —  Gaara has always highly praised you. He likes you. — Seeing his face, she laughed happily —  That's not the taste I mean. Relax, colonel Sabaku has a wife and a child on the way.
The boy breathed out and filled the rest of the documentation with the woman. Then they arranged a weekly check-up, including a simple chat.
—  Thank you, Mrs. Tsunade. —  he smiled as he walked to the door.
—  Listen, you have nothing to thank for. For me it was a pure pleasure, Naruto. —  she giggled. — See you soon!
He nodded and went out into the corridor. He looked around in the hope that there was a pink spot somewhere, but he didn't see it. He gave up and headed for the exit.
—  I still have a lot of time, there will be more than one opportunity to get to know her... She won't run away —  he whispered to himself.

— Beer? — Uzumaki got surprised.
— Beer — replied Kakashi. — Together with Madara we came to the conclusion that we deserve it.
Gray-haired was lying on his bed, and on his chest was a book that the blond hadn't yet seen. For a moment, he felt that this going out was not right for him. He wanted to rest, meanwhile knowing the capabilities of the older Uchiha - he knew that one beer wouldn't be the last.
— And if will we be needed? — he doubted, sitting in an armchair.
— Naruto, is the so little of us here? — The man rose briskly and slid to the edge of the bed. — We have the right to be free from time to time.
— All right, I'll just take a shower — he murmured, standing on his feet.
After less than fifteen minutes he left the bathroom. He dressed the cargo pants and his favorite black sweatshirt, which he pulled over his head and rested sit again in the armchair to put on sneakers. They left their home after 9pm and headed for the pub, picking up Madara along the way.
When they entered the bar, they were struck by the smell of the brewery, warm air and rumor coming from most of the busy tables. The screen of a large plasma, hung on one of the walls, emanated mainly with the green color of the turf, on which the match between Germany and France was being played. Uchiha found a table, located against the opposite wall and led the boys there.
— So what, with a small one for the beginning? — said the brown-haired, hanging the sweatshirt over his chair.
— Yup. — Kakashi slammed his open hand on the table top and slid down on the chair, looking around the interior of the pub.
— For me just beer — muttered Uzumaki, seeing how Uchiha shifts his questioning gaze to him.
— For sure?
He nodded to him and stared at the table as the man walked away to the bar where his favorite barmaid was waiting for him.
— You're kind of weird today, really — grunted gray-haired without even looking at his friend. — Say what's going about, and don't make from yourself... This.
— Kakashi, I'm fine — he replied, raising blue iris at him. — I feel a little uncomfortable and that's it. I don't sleep much lately, I need rest... I won't play with you for long.
— As you say... — Hatake folded his hands under his chin, leaned his elbows on the table and stared at the television.
— I have to catch her someday after hours — said Madara when he put two full of hundreds on the counter. — She will bring beer soon, they had to replace the barrel.
— That's alright. — snorted blond.
The brewery appeared after a while. They raised a silent toast for a successful evening and plunged into each other's company, not allowing anyone from the outside to join, except for the female friends of Uchiha. Naruto, as the time passed and alcohol, forgot about the unknown feeling that was bothering him. After about two hours, his attention, focused on his colleagues, was destroyed when his eyes shifted to the front door. Opened quite often, but it was only this time when a man he knew who walked through them, let him know that he had to be after a few quick, came through.
— Madara, I'm finishing soon... — The barmaid's voice rang in his head. She stood between him and the brown-haired, putting blond and Kakashi new beers. — Do you want to take me home? — She winked with known intention at the man who was just finishing his drink.
He opened his black eyes wider when the glass was still at his nose, but after a while he mastered his senses, put the glass on the table and looked at the redhead, looking uncontrollably from top to bottom.
— Necessarily — he replied, with a strange indignation in his voice. — Something could happen to you... — He winked at the blond.
He probably envied him. He may not have been the type of a womanizer and he didn't like getting women for one night, but he was fed up with the fact that when he liked a girl - on average, he was finding a common language. The pink-haired has a different effect on him. She was the person for whom he wanted to change something. But why, if he didn't know her?
Shortly afterwards, Madara left the pub with the barmaid, and the guys stayed with full glasses of beer and wondered what to do with each other.
— Ey... — Kakashi was holding a glass against his face, which he drew his finger away from and pointed at a table nearby — Isn't it the father of these puppies?
— Yes — he replied, checking if he was pointing to the right guy. — He came here some time ago... Already seasoned, at least I think so.
— Sad man — sighed gray-haired.
Yamato sat alone with a half-filled whiskey glass and stared at the table. He had incredibly swollen and blue eyelids, and from where they were sitting they could easily see the freshly wounded wounds on his hand ankles.
— I think he wanted to relieve himself — the man noticed.
— Are we going to him? — the blond asked, glancing at Tenzou. — We wanted to go anyway, we will finish with him the beer, talk. Maybe we'll make him feel better.
— What have I got to lose?... — he grunted in response and rose from his chair, taking a mug with him.
Naruto pulled on a sweatshirt and followed in his footsteps. After a while, they were at the designated place and exchanged worried glances when the man ignored them.
— Hello, Mr. Tenzou, right? — the blond murmured, leaning over the dark brown.
— Yees, it's me — he stammered understandably after he looked at them. — Something happened?
— Can we sit? — gray-haired said bluntly.
— Yes... Yes, sure. — He pointed to one of the chairs.
— To drink alone? — Uzumaki laughed softly and gave a finger to the man's glass.
— Sometimes such evenings come when you have enough people — he sighed.
— If it's some hint, we can go. — Kakashi pulled his head back slightly.
— No, no... It's not like that. — Yamato waved his hand and grabbed the glass with her. — Strangers don't bother me…
— Kids are getting tired, huh? — Naruto took a sip of beer and looked around the place. — Can you tell us what has affected them?
— We lived in this house since birth... You know, they're children... Their toys, valuable items... They didn't understand the gravity of the situation, they thought it was taken against their will, not for their good... — He glanced at the blond, who nodded understandingly. — They don't understand it, they haven't seen it…
— Have you seen? — Naruto raised an eyebrow, wondering when it passed him that Kakashi and this type passed to "you".
— Yes — he replied shortly. He watched the ice in the glass for a moment. — Unfortunately yes…
— Can you describe what it looks like?
Yamato looked up at Hatake and studied him for a moment.
— You really haven't seen it?
— Only on photos, videos... — sighed Naruto.
— Believe me — he whispered. — This is the last thing you want to see in your life.
The boys, seeing that it was getting worse, began to change the subject and try to turn the situation into a bit more sympathetic, at which hour passed. Naruto finally felt that going to the bathroom had become an unprecedented necessity, so he politely apologized and headed for the toilet. He didn't like toilets in such places, but this one didn't bother him. Everything was really cared for here and there was little to worry about.
His legs were a little tangled, a silly smile didn't leave his face, and rational thinking was already disturbed. He went to the sink and looked at his reflection, in which he saw ruffled, fair hair and tired eyes. He turned the water off and washed his hands. However, he didn't forget to moisten the face with cool liquid. He wiped her on the T-shirt he had under his sweatshirt, combed his hair and realized that he had spent almost ten minutes in the bathroom. Closing the door behind him, he froze at the aggressive shuffle of the chair after which it fell. He had no idea why, but he felt it was Kakashi. He jumped up and ran into a room full of excitement at the thought of a fight, a crowd. He wasn't wrong.
— No! — he screamed, seeing his friend holding Yamato by the material of his sweatshirt and punches him in the face with his right hand. Before he could start running to stop him, the fist of gray-haired set off quickly, imprecisely hitting the left eyebrow of brown-haired man. — Fuck!
Hatake threw the body of the drunk Tenzou to the floor and apparently intended to continue punching his face as he put his leg over him and grabbed his clothes again. Naruto fell into him like a bullet, and they hit the wall.
— Are you totally fucked up?! — he hissed, straight into Kakashi's face as he clamped my fingers on the collar of his jacket. He pressed him against the wooden paneling and didn't think about letting go until he explained it. — Why did you do that?! Fuck! If anyone saw it, they will fucking throw you out imbecile!
— Please leave the premises, immediately! — shouted the black-haired barmaid. — This is not the place for such skirmishes!
— Apologize to him and let's go, now! — Naruto didn't think that he would ever talk like that to a man that is so older than himself. — KAKASHI!
— I'll kill this fucking garbage! — he growled, struggling.
— Fuck — he said through his teeth. He put his hand in his pocket, took out two banknotes and laid it on the table without waiting for the rest. — I'm sorry for him — he groaned, casting one last look at the terrified Yamato who was bleeding.
He pulled the gray-haired man with him. He knew that if he didn't hold him, he would come back and finish his doing. He literally threw him outside the bar, onto a dark, unlit street, and left out after him, eager to break his bones himself.
— What got in you again?! — he screamed, raising his arms.
— Do you know what that fucker did?! — he roared, pointing at the pub. He took a few deep breaths, leaning sideways. — Son of a bitch groaned, that when the infected attacked the house in which they were hiding, he got scared and escaped! He escaped, leaving his wife alone!
The boy's tired eyelids opened wider, and the lower jaw literally dropped down. He didn't fully believe what the gray-haired man said, but he knew that he wouldn't kill people with dozens of witnesses for no reason.
— Now you understand? Wife! — His voice screeched in anger. — Fuck, I can't!
— Let's go back to the apartment — he murmured, walking over to him and grabbing his arm. He pulled him with him, then let go and put his hands in his pockets. He thought. He thought and did not believe what his friend had just said. He sighed loudly…
— Well, you won't tell me that he is a normal man — Kakashi spoke after he normalized his furious breath.
— You know... — The blond man's eyes narrowed. — You can't say that.
— What? Should I break your nose too?!
— You act like the heroic hero of Marvel comics... — After these words, gray-haired closed his mouth. — Kakashi, you don't know what he was dealing with... Not everyone is a soldier. Not everyone is taught sacrifice, not everyone is brave. I know how important Hanare and the young are to you... I know that no matter what - you wouldn't leave them. But you didn't sit in this shit like him, you didn't live in darkness, fear and thought that at any moment something would tear you apart. You must be able to put yourself in his place. I think that there is a huge gulf between running from one infected dung and getting encircled by Iraqis... And it is the infected that will frighten you more.
— Why are you defending him? — he asked calmly.
— Because I'm trying to understand him. Fear turns the bravest heroes into... Into shit — he sighed. — In such moments, you often only think about yourself. You are selfish, although you may not want to be one. He was saving himself. Cowardice saves lives...
